Sophia is an award-winning producer of short films and music promos; in 2013, she was awarded the Pears Short Film Fund, and her films have been exhibited at national and international film festivals including the UK Jewish Film Festival, Geneva International Jewish Film Festival and Asthetica Film Festival. 

Sophia has over 10 year's BBC experience as a Regional Project manager for BBC Learning.  To hone her skills in production, Sophia graduated in 2012 with an MA in Film & Television Production at Royal Holloway, University of London where she was taught by by Ceci Depsey (The Lobster) and Jonathan Powell (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).   

Selected for BAFTA CREW in the Production Management category, Sophia was consequently selected to be a BAFTA mentor for the BFI Film Academy Alumni programme. 

Recognising a need to celebrate emerging and world cinema talent, Sophia has curated & programmed films and events for a range of arts institutions including: The New Art Exchange Gallery, Broadway Cinema and the Bang Short Films Festival was subsequently selected to be a trainee on the Independent Cinema Office and Film Distributors Association’s Internship Programme. 


In 2016, Sophia completed the National Film and Television School’s BAME Leadership programme and was mentored by Duncan Clark, President Of Distribution at Universal Pictures International.   On graduation of the programme, Sophia was subsequently recruited by the National Film and Television School as the new BAME Leadership Programme Producer. 

In addition, Sophia currently holds a position at Broadway Cinema as the Audience Development, Diversity and Engagement Coordinator and is also is an A & E Advisor for the BFI Film Hub Central East.
